Metadata Server

The EuroRoadS Metadata Server has the purpose to link data providers and data users of EuroRoadS, enabling to enter and change metadata on the one-hand side and query the metadata on the other hand.

The data held in the EuroRoadS Metadata Server represents a subset from the metadata which are defined as mandatory in the Deliverable 6.8 Metadata Catalogue.

The potential customer should be able to perform a search in the metadata base as well as the data provider should be able to edit and maintain metadata.

The metadata server can also be considered as a major building block of a future ‘Virtual Shop’. Beyond the metadata entry and querying functions, such a Virtual shop will potentially have to support the actual data exchange as well as the commercial transactions related to the data exchange.
