Project Management
Objectives
The main objective of this work package is to co-ordinate project management and the financial and administrative work. The work package also includes establishing the basis for the assessment and evaluation of the project against overall objectives.
Description of work
The general administrative and financial co-ordination and management tasks will be handled in work package 1. The work will be carried out by the project co-ordinator. The project co-ordinator will chair the Project Management Group, a body responsible for the main strategic and managerial issues of the project. The Project Management Group will consist of the WP leaders and one representative of the other contractors.
The co-ordinator will organise the internal Kick-off Meeting in which the detailed workplan will be discussed and finalised. Over the whole project life span the co-ordinator will continuously follow the progress of the work and take necessary correcting action as needed. The project co-ordination includes the management of the overall project budget as well as preparation of:
- 3 monthly periodic management reports
- 6 monthly periodic progress reports including cost statements
- status reports for the Quarterly Project Management Group Meetings
A risk analysis for the project will be carried out at the beginning of the project in this work package. The project co-ordinator is also responsible for the contacts with the authorities of the European Commission. The compilation of the final project report is also a task of this work package. A full time project manager will be appointed for the project as a whole, and will also be the resource for this work package.
The project assessment and evaluation will be carried out in accordance with the “Six steps” when elaborating criteria and critical success factors to be used for the assessment and evaluation of the project. This will be done throughout the life span of the project, and will be used in the reporting of the project.
